The winters are mild, with temperatures rarely dropping below forty degrees. I savor the Springtime and fall seasons and don’t mind the heat and humidity of summer. The tropical foliage is exotic and colorful… Jacksonville also provides access to the St. Johns river and over twenty miles of colorless sand beaches. The ocean is just a short distance from the downtown part and offers lots of shops, restaurants, nightlife and water activities. Blessedly, the park is prone to storms. My buddy and I experience high winds, torrential downpours and the occasional hurricane. A storm led to my loft flooding. There were many feet of water in the backyard and inside the house. The water was dirty and foul-odoring. It caused a great deal of disfigurement and expense. The heat pump, water pump and water furnace were totally destroyed. The rugs, furniture, washer, dryer, refrigerator and stove were wrecked. My wife and I were left with a mess. The floors became warped, the walls stained and there was excessive mold growth. My buddy and I were looking at severely fancy repairs and replacements. There was no way to sell the dwelling in its storm-disfigurement condition. My buddy and I didn’t want to invest in a dwelling that would most likely flood again! Our goal was to sell the dwelling as hastily and painlessly as possible.
