Selling a apartment in terrible condition

I moved to Phoenix, AZ, because my college bestie had family there, but while I really love the area, I made the mistake of buying a apartment with the guy! My associate and I put our really meager funds together and bought a apartment in need of renovations, and the only reason we could afford the apartment was because of its seriously terrible condition.

  • The apartment couldn’t pass a house inspection, and any repairs or improvements that had been handled by the previous owner hadn’t been permitted and were a mess.

The floor was spongy, the walls crumbling and the ceilings showed signs of major water detriment. The roof leaked causing problems with the frame of the apartment and a moldy smell. There were signs of pest infestation, broken windows and doors that wouldn’t close. All of the appliances needed to be replaced and the electrical system wasn’t up to code. My associate and I had problems with the plumbing, including the water heater, drains and septic, but our plan was to repair the apartment up by ourselves. My bestie led me to feel that she was really handy and experienced in house remodeling projects. It didn’t take long to realize that she had significantly overstated her skills and expertise, but not only did she have no idea how to make repairs or replacements, despite the fact that she regularly failed to finish a task after starting it, and she gutted the lavatory and then did nothing beyond installing the toilet and shower. My associate and I had no sink, vanity or finished walls and floor. The faucets leaked and the shower wouldn’t drain. It was a mess. When we broke up, I had no idea how we’d manage to ever sell the house, then fortunately, my bestie came up with one great idea. She advocated we contact a currency house buyer. My associate and I chose a contractor local to Phoenix with a well-documented reputation for tolerable deals.
